the time has come. the moment we always knew would arrive, even though i personally hoped it would come as late as possible.

it’s time to say goodbye.

our journey, which started togheter, is now going in different directions. that’s why i want to give you your own little chapter in this blog.

we met by chance on the first day at the hostel and we ended up living together for almost the whole time. that’s why you’ll never be just anyone to me.

i want to thank you for every adventure we shared, for all the times you helped me, supported me and listened to me. i want to thank you for every beer we had together, for the music we listened to and to our walks around the CBD. i want to thank you for our sunset mate and for the completos.

but mostly, i want to thank you for being a friend during such an important and delicate time in my life, i really hope i was able to be for you what you were for me.

from our first room together to our apartment, just thinking about it would have sounded crazy 6 months ago. i’ll always remember the smell of that first room, the ‘multicultural jacuzzi’, that hug and those tears on new year’s eve and our deep talks at Point Ormond.

thanks to you i learned how to really live this experience, not to worry about tomorrow but to live every single moment. it might sounds obvious, but it actually isn’t.

you taught me to enjoy the little things in life, like a sunset or a coffee, but the most important thing that you taught me is that no plan is the plan.

that’s why i wish you all the best from this experience and from life in general, because you truly deserve every good thing this world has to offer. i’m sure you’ll achieve everything you set your mind to, because you literally proved you can have a job as a pizza chef without ever have stepped foot in a kitchen. a genius.

the thing i’m most proud of is have built a friendship across the ocean that i know will last a long time, a real connection, different from any i’ve had before in my life. but like you always said, ‘la vita ci riunirà di nuovo’. whether it’s in Chile, Italy or anywhere else in the world.
